Privacy Policy
The controller
Matriarchs in the Machine is the data controller for matriarchetype.ai. We decide what is collected and why. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing. No exceptions.
What we collect
Your registration email. Your Strategic Blueprint responses. Your board configuration. Your consultation sessions — the question you ask, the seats the Chief of Staff draws on, and the synthesised response. Stored verbatim. Summarised nowhere at source.
Lawful basis
Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR — performance of a contract, to deliver the board and counsel you commissioned. Article 6(1)(a) — your explicit, revocable consent for the anonymised longitudinal dataset. Article 9 special-category data is never processed.
Anonymisation
Before any response contributes to research, personally identifying data is stripped. The dataset is aggregated. No individual is re-identifiable. This is irreversible by design.
Where it lives
Supabase. Managed PostgreSQL. EU data residency. Encrypted in transit and at rest. No personal data in URLs, logs, or query strings.
Your rights
Access. Rectification. Erasure. Restriction. Portability. Objection. Withdraw consent at any time. Exercise any of these on this page or by contacting the data controller. Requests are answered within one calendar month. No gatekeeping.
Terms of Service
The service
matriarchetype.ai provides a virtual board of AI archetypes configured to your strategic profile. The archetypes are drawn from non-living historical, mythical, and fictional figures. The counsel is strategic. It is not medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice. It does not replace a regulated professional.
The chair
You are the chair. You hold the final veto on every directive. The board advises. You decide. Responsibility for action taken on that advice rests with you.
AI disclosure
All board counsel is generated by a large language model (Anthropic Claude). The Chief of Staff is an AI, not a person. No archetype is a living individual. No response is human-authored. Treat the output as a considered second opinion, not a verdict.
Accounts
Access is invite-only. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. We may suspend access for abuse, non-payment, or breach of these terms.
Subscriptions
Paid tiers are billed monthly in GBP. The 2:1 bursary rule is structural: for every two paid subscribers, one bursary place is unlocked. You may cancel at any time. Refunds are governed by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Matriarchs in the Machine is not liable for decisions made on the basis of board counsel.
AI Disclosure
What the board is
Every archetype is an AI persona. The Chief of Staff is an AI synthesiser. None of them is a person. None of them is alive. The voices are constrained by a Voice Manifest — register, syntax, prohibitions, and relationship to the chair — to hold consistency. They are not consciousness. They are counsel.
Bias mitigation
Before every synthesis the Chief of Staff runs a bias check: financial assumptions, Western cultural defaults, unconfirmed educational or network access, and structural-versus-individual framing. Your anonymised data is used to identify and correct bias in the board's responses over time. You are not the product. You are the architect of a fairer system.
Limits
The model can be wrong. It can reflect the biases of its training data despite the checks. It does not know you beyond what you tell it. Verify material decisions against a regulated professional. The board is a sparring partner, not an oracle.
Data Retention
Anonymised research records
Retained indefinitely. Once stripped of identifiers, they are no longer personal data under UK GDPR. They are the longitudinal dataset. This is the exit story.
Identifiable records
Retained for the life of your account. Deleted on request, or when your account is closed. Erasure is fulfilled within one calendar month.
On-device state
When you have not granted dataset consent, your data stays on your device. It is cleared when you clear your browser storage or request deletion.

privacy@matriarchetype.aiExport your data. Or erase it. The chair decides.
Article 15 gives you your data, in full, in a portable format. Article 17 lets you erase it. Both are exercisable here. No gatekeeping. No friction designed to wear you down.
Export my data
Download every record you own — profile, blueprints, boards, consultations, reports — as a single JSON file. The full record. Not a summary.
Delete my account
Erases every personal record you own. The auth account is closed by the data controller within one calendar month. Irreversible. Anonymised research records are retained.
UK GDPR Articles 15 & 17. Revocable. No friction. No gatekeeping.
